What We Do

Inventure LLC was founded in 2014 with the mission of providing high quality, reliable, low cost supplies to the medical imaging field. GADo, our first product, is projected to be the first generic MRI contrast agent on the market.

Who We Are

We are a strong team of healthcare entrepreneurs with an extensive collection of experiences in the healthcare industry, including medical training, healthcare consulting, working on the teams of international pharmaceutical corporations, and launching and leading medical device and medical manufacturing startups. By developing robust industry partnerships we are leveraging GADo to enter the radiology market.

Richard J. Deslauriers, MD

Founder and Chairman

Dr. Richard J. Deslauriers holds an MD from the University of Toronto and is now an entrepreneur with 20 years of experience innovating and building medical device businesses in the US. Throughout his career, Dr. Deslauriers has developed a strong network of clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, legal, and distribution contacts that are invaluable to Inventure’s efforts. Dr. Deslauriers is a Partner at the medical device manufacturing company Contract Medical Manufacturing, the spinal implant company Qualgenix, and the wound care product company WoundRX. Before studying medicine, Dr. Deslauriers earned a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Haven.

Brad Rummer


Mr. Rummer is a successful entrepreneur with a 30-year track record of success in the US medical device market. Starting in the 1980s, he built, owned and operated multiple medical product distributorships, including Medtronic’s most successful spine distributorship, which it re-acquired several years ago. With a business partner, Mr. Rummer is still actively involved in GHM, LLC, a medical device distributorship in Texas. Mr. Rummer is also a Partner at WoundRX with Dr. Richard Deslauriers. He brings to the table a vast amount of experience in medical product sales and distribution, having successfully negotiating hundreds of profitable hospital and GPO contracts. He is heavily involved in strategic decision-making area of Inventure.

Bill Doyle


Mr. Doyle has 25 years of experience in healthcare business and investment. In addition to his role as Director at Inventure, Bill Doyle has been Chairman of the Board of Novocure since 2009, and has been a Director of Novocure since 2004. Mr. Doyle also co-founded private venture capital firm WFD Ventures, LLC, where he has served as Managing Director since 2002. Previously, he was at Johnson & Johnson as Vice President of Licensing and Acquisitions and a member of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Group Operating Committee. He has also served as Chairman of the Medical Devices Research and Development Council, Worldwide President of Biosense-Webster, Inc. He previously worked as a management consultant in the healthcare group of McKinsey & Company. Mr. Doyle holds an SB in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Robert F. Jacobs


Robert (Bob) Jacobs is a Senior Healthcare Executive passionate about the transformation to Value Based Care and the novel business models, products and analytics that will drive change. An understanding of Alternative Payment Models and their effect on Provider, Rx, Med Tech, DME and technology markets provides a unique leadership framework and perspective.

Today, Bob is the CEO for Inventure Imaging, LLC, a company focused on disruption of the $1 billion Global MR Contrast Agent Market. Prior to Inventure Mr. Jacobs led Strategy and Corporate Development for Siemens Healthineers’ NA Services Unit. In this capacity Bob worked with the Healthineers’ and AG global leadership, customers and other market participants to help leverage Siemens Digital Assets that influence the care continuum.

Over his 20 plus years in healthcare Bob has led several startups. These span Intelligent Quisine, a restart of Campbells Soup’s meal system business focused on nutrition and the prevention of Metabolic Syndrome to Next Health, a patient mobility company focused on cost of care reductions in the Post-Acute market. In addition, Mr. Jacobs has held leadership and advisory roles with Wound care, Cryotherapy, and Digital Imaging companies.

Earlier in his career, Bob was a member of IBM’s Life Sciences team.  There he worked with IBM Research’s Blue Gene Super Computer team (predecessor to Watson) on early stage AI/predicative analytics challenges.  Later at IBM Bob held global P&L responsibly for Consulting, Technology and Outsourcing Services with one of IBM’s top Pharma accounts.

Bob holds a BS in Economics from Fitchburg State University and has completed advanced course work at the Harvard Business School.

Jonathan Balfour


Mr. Balfour is an experienced medical entrepreneur. Prior to Inventure, he was the VP of Business Development at Qualgenix, where he had operational, sales, product development and regulatory responsibilities for contrast agents and spinal implants. He has also advised numerous startup businesses in the health and technology fields as a consultant and volunteer advisor at MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Balfour’s career began in sales and marketing at Merck & Co., before he moved to the Boston Consulting Group, where he served and advised prominent organizations in pharmaceutical and other sectors. Jonathan holds a BScH in Life Science from Queen’s University in Canada and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and the London Business School.
